VIJAY VENKATACHALAM
Managing Director

Mr. Venkatachalam is a Managing Director with FG Companies.  Prior to joining FG Companies in April 2009, Mr.
Venkatachalam worked as a Director with UBS Investment Bank’s Financial Institutions Group based in New York.  
While at UBS, Mr. Venkatachalam helped develop the Financial Markets and Technology practice within the firm,
where he was responsible for covering exchanges, trading platforms, payments companies, markets companies
and other financial technology companies worldwide.  Prior to UBS, Mr. Venkatachalam spent three years with
Citigroup’s Financial Institution Investment Banking practice covering Banks / Depositaries and Specialty Finance
Companies.  

Mr. Venkatachalam has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, IPO’s, as well as other public and
private capital transactions.  Some of Mr. Venkatachalam’s M&A transaction experience includes the disposition of
NASDAQ’s minority stake in the London Stock Exchange, the spin-off of Ameriprise from American Express, the
three way acquisition / investment transaction between Grupo Santander, Sovereign Bancorp and Independence
Community Bancorp, the acquisition of Atlantic Bank of New York by New York Community Bancorp, the acquisition
of Federated’s credit card portfolio by Citigroup, and others.  Mr. Venkatachalam’s IPO / capital raising experience
includes the $19.7 billion IPO of Visa Inc, the $2.9 billion IPO of MF Global, the $900 million IPO of KKR Financial,
and numerous other follow-on equity and debt raises for various financial sector companies.

Mr. Venkatachalam holds Series 24 (General Securities Principal), Series 7 (General Securities Representative),  
Series 79 (Investment Banking Representative), and Series 63 (Securities Sales Agent) licenses from the National
Association of Securities Dealers.  Mr. Venkatachalam has a BE in Computer Engineering from the University of
Madras in Madras, India (1995) and an MBA from Cornell University (2003).
