MELANIE WILSON Director, FG Solutions

From 2000 until 2007 when she joined the FG team, Ms. Wilson was the Director of Product, Partner and Portfolio Management at HSBC Card Services. While in this position, she improved profitability through segmentation, pricing, portfolio, and offer strategies. For example, Ms. Wilson improved response and targeting for marketing programs by analyzing a key co-branding partner’s transaction and customer file data. In addition, she improved profitability on a rewards portfolio through detailed segmentation analysis to determine changes to product construct.
Prior to this, Ms. Wilson held the position of Director of New Product Development. She developed product construct, statement and marketing operations requirements, and consumer research plan for potential new products. In this role, she worked jointly with Discover Network to develop marketing strategies to grow portfolio activation, usage and receivables. Prior to HSBC, Ms. Wilson was part of Metris Companies, which was acquired by HSBC in 2004.
From 1993 until 2000, Ms. Wilson was a Senior Product Manager at US Bank Corporation. While at US Bank, Ms. Wilson was managed a consumer debit card portfolio consisting of over 1.6 million accounts and over $2 billion in annual sales volume. She also served in additional roles for US Bank including product manager of a $4 billion home equity portfolio, Visa TravelMoney, and consumer checking.
Ms. Wilson has a BA(Hons) in Psychology from Duke University, and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Minnesota.
